Since its founding in 2001, the firm has grown significantly by implementing creative tax investment strategies to acquire and revitalize historic real estate in urban markets. Under Drew’s leadership, global X generates over $400 million per year in real estate project transactions to raise capital for these projects, which have transformed neighborhoods, stimulated economic growth, and preserved the cultural and historic fabric of the community.
With over 25 years of experience in federal, state and local, and international tax consulting, Drew is responsible for the firm’s product development and innovation. He has a deep technical expertise and market perspective to align the interests of clients, investors and taxing authorities to ensure a seamless and successful execution of investment strategies.
He began his career with the Cleveland tax consulting group of Ernst & Young LLP. When Drew was named Director of Finance at STERIS Corporation, a leading provider of medical products and services, the company was growing rapidly, both domestically and internationally. Drew’s work with acquisitions focused on integrating the legal structures of the new companies and implementing sophisticated planning to significantly reduce the effective tax rate.
Drew is currently a member of the Case Weatherhead School of Management Alumni Advisory Council. He previously served as a Board Member for the Mentor Exempted Village School District.
Drew received his Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Ohio Wesleyan University, and his JD/MBA from Case Western Reserve University with concentrations in tax and finance.
